You’ve called four different frameless shower door installers and gotten four different prices. Everything was exactly the same, so why the difference? The answer is simple: Everything is not the same. The quality of the glass, the quality of the fixtuers and the materials are all significant variables.
All complex frame-less enclosures should be manufactured with 1/2" glass. It is not advisable to mix glass thickness on any given enclosure. A seller who advocates a 3/8” door and ½” panel may be doing so to compensate for lower quality hinges, which lack the capacity to carry a ½” door.
By incorporating Precision Starphire Glass in building projects you are guaranteed incomparable clarity and incredible durability. Designed for a numerous variety of applications including storefronts, entrances, skylights, decorative wall panels, building facades, custom showroom windows, etc. it has been the glass of choice for the greatest iconic structures all over the U.S today.
You can't tell by looking at it, or even by touching it, but glass is a surprisingly porous material at the microscopic level. Repeated exposure to the kind of heat, humidity and cleaning products that you'd find in a bathroom can cause corrosion. This corrosion can cause ordinary glass to change appearance –making your glass shower look cloudy. Even some products designed to guard against this corrosion still degrade over time.
